What To Expect?
Participants can expect the opportunity to ask questions and to hear about personal experiences of developing a portfolio career. The session will include tips on how to not only survive but thrive as an artist in the creative industry, how one can stay true to self and also how to build a career in the arts that you are proud of. From working with The Lion King in the West End as Children's Casting Director to directing a performing arts academy and lecturing at university, find out how the different paths dance takes you can combine to create a diverse career.

@akomaasa_artsAkosuA Boakye BEM is the founder and director of AkomaAsa Performing Arts Academy, Disney’s Lion King, Children’s Casting Coordinator, Lecturer in Dance and Performing Arts and a PhD student at Canterbury Christ Church university. With over 15 years of experience in the UK Akosua has taught in a variety of educational and community settings working as a freelancer and in leadership and managerial roles. In 2019 she set up The Thea Barnes Legacy Fund (TBLF), a donor supported independent fund established to support individuals in creative and academic areas that reflect Barnes’ interest in dance, performing arts, scholarly research and mentoring.
