What To Expect?
In this session Hakeem will be sharing the skills needed to be a dance leader. Participants will also hear about the projects he worked on at The Place, how he conceived the ideas, the nuts and bolts of getting a festival up and running, how important teamwork is, and the skills you need to bring projects to life.

Hakeem Onibudo is today an influential force within the international dance community. Since 1995 Hakeem has been widely recognised for his significant work as a choreographer, performer, mentor and British Council Cultural Leadership International Ambassador. With reputation preceding him, Hakeem has established himself as a renowned, professional host and MC, working on red carpet movie premieres and other prestigious national and international events whilst also broadcasting his popular MLI-JAM show every Thursday 7-10pm on Colourful Radio.
With Madonna amongst his list of current clients, he is currently training her children weekly in street dance and hip hop, Hakeem’s extensive body of dance work also includes notable assignments for prominent corporations and organisations such as Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Disney, Warner Brothers, The Royal Ballet School, The Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells, the British Council, BBC, Nickelodeon and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. In 2006 Hakeem was called upon to choreograph The Pet Shop Boys World Tour Cubism.
