About Young Creatives
Young Creatives is a free national programme managed by One Dance UK. As part of the programme, young choreographers will benefit from the opportunity to attend online workshops with industry professionals with the end goal of creating a final dance work.
The programme includes sessions on the creative process with professional choreographers and for 2021 included workshops with screendance experts as they developed short dance films.
The young choreographers have worked with Lead Mentor Sarah Dowling (Company Wayne McGregor, The Royal Ballet, Cats film) who will support them as a collective to create a dance work, from the initial idea through to a finished product.
Hothouse is a free online choreographic training programme for young Scottish dancers, run by YDance in partnership with Scottish Ballet and regional partners in Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Paisley. It is designed to inspire and develop the next generation of choreographers.
The Young Choreographers Showcase and the Young Creatives programme is kindly supported by The Place and London Contemporary Dance School.
