All activity at U.Dance National Festival 2022 is free for participants to take part in, and groups are responsible for their own travel to and from Birmingham, food and accommodation. The U.Dance team is working with partners to secure the most cost-effective options for groups. This section has information on accommodation and catering options.
Accommodation for groups attending U.Dance National Festival 2022
Groups are responsible for organising accommodation and travel for the U.Dance National Festival. The U.Dance team has compiled a list of suitable options based on age ranges of your group.
Please be aware that as the Commonwealth Games are taking place in Birmingham the following week, availability in hotels will change as we approach the festival, so we would recommend booking sooner rather than later.
We would also recommend booking via a third party website, to get the best available rates as some hotels may inflate their prices if you call directly. Try www.hotelscombined.com which collates the best prices from all major booking websites. Most hotels do have a group booking system for larger groups, however the quoted costs may be more than what is offered via third party sites.
As Birmingham is so centrally located, groups within an hour or so drive from the city may wish to consider commuting as a cost-effective alternative. Parking will be available close to the MAC on the weekend of the festival.
Accommodation suggestions are listed below with distance from the MAC by taxi.
For groups aged 18+
Premier Inn have the best rates currently, however all rooms must be occupied by at least one person aged 18 or above. This would be the best option for groups with older participants and for parents or guardians looking to come along.

Premier Inn Broad Street, B16 8AL (11 min drive)
Premier Inn Waterloo Street, B2 5PG (13 min drive)

Other hotels that have an 18+ policy on guests in rooms include: EasyHotel, IBIS Styles, IBIS Budget, Hilton.

Food and Drink at U.Dance National Festival 2022
All groups are responsible for their own food at the U.Dance National Festival 2022.
Groups should have breakfast before arrival for each day’s activity.
Please note that while snacks and light refreshments are allowed in MAC, main meals eaten on site must be purchased from the venue. If your group would like to arrange for outside catering/delivery, you are very welcome to eat at the beautiful Cannon Hill Park.
Catering at MAC
More details on food, including menus, costs and payment information, will be provided in due course. Please see some general information below.

Groups can either opt in or opt out of the meal packages and must select their option as a group. The MAC food and beverage team will endeavour to cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and if there are very specific needs, please contact the U.Dance team to discuss at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Snacks and additional food
Participants are welcome to bring snacks and refreshments for break times or after their performance.
MAC has a range of cafes with excellent options (see here).
